Hundreds of locations, thousands of people, one voice
Women’s Golf Day (WGD) is an annual celebration and you can join! Normally held on June 1, this event provides a wonderful opportunity for all those who love golf to get involved in local activities.
Golf is so much more than a club and ball. As a participant in TGA you are familiar with our etiquette lessons, focus on proper sportsmanship, and valuable lessons we share with your child(ren). Perhaps WGD can be a way for Mom, Grandma, or Auntie to learn the sport your kid loves and join in the fun!
WGD is a great way to start your golf journey or get reintroduced to the sport in a fun and engaging environment. WGD was created five years ago by Elisa Gaudet to engage, empower, and support girls and women in golf, celebrating the sport that lasts a lifetime. This four-hour experience happens globally where women and girls can experience golf for the first time or where current players can play and engage with women interested in golf. It is hosted at golf courses and retail locations all around the world on the same day.
Since 2016, WGD has been engaging participants from around the globe irrespective of race, religion, language, ethnicity, or geography and continues to see increase year after year. The first year WGD had 430 locations participating in 28 countries, this year it has grown to include 900 facilities in 52 countries.
No matter what skill level or interest join the Women’s Golf Day movement, a wonderful celebration with global impact from a local level.
