Former Collegiate and Professional Tennis Player Brings Youth Tennis Delivery System to Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C.TGA Premier Sports (TGA), a leading youth sports organization specializing in introductory and recreational programs, announces the launch of a new Premier Tennis franchise in the Washington, D.C. area.

Prang Pantusart, a former collegiate and professional tennis player, was seeking a career that kept her close to the sport she loves. She discovered TGA and its innovative grassroots model that plants seeds for the future and is sweeping the nation.

“TGA is a successful and proven franchise operation upon which a career can be built,” Pantusart said. “Additionally, TGA is a national brand closely related to youth sports and youth athlete development, and with their close affiliation with the USTA, it was an attractive opportunity. Cultivating and grooming the next generation of tennis players while owning and operating a small business is very exciting.”

Pantusart, a native of Thailand, has been playing tennis since early in her youth. Following a professional career where she was ranked as high as No. 173 in the World by the ITF, she was recruited by several colleges in the U.S. to play tennis and selected University of Akron in Ohio. She earned her degree in Business Administration with a focus on Corporate Finance (cum laude), while leading the university’s tennis program as team captain. She then moved on to the American University in D.C. and graduated in 2016 with a master’s degree in marketing.

TGA has become a leading introductory and recreational program in the tennis industry by already activating over 100,000 new tennis players across the country. With Pantusart’s new franchise, thousands of youngsters will be impacted in the northwest areas of D.C., including the vibrant family-oriented neighborhoods in Chevy Chase, Wakefield, Brightwood, Colonial Village, Friendship Heights, Tenleytown, Spring Valley and Woodley Park.

“Northwest D.C. is a unique area that is ripe for TGA Premier Tennis,” Pantusart said. “The area has a number of youth clubs or school programs providing instruction and competition. Through TGA’s introductory tennis model, we will fill a void and be a feeder system to many of these programs as well as USTA area programs.”

The TGA impact is made at several levels. First, by bringing introductory tennis programs directly into schools and community centers through before- or after-school enrichment programs, it is putting tennis on a level playing field with other mainstream sports and youth activities. Second, TGA creates a pathway for students and families from the school and community programs to recreational programs at tennis facilities that include camps, Play Day Series, as well as USTA Junior Team Tennis and Junior Tournaments.

TGA provides all of the equipment for kids at no cost in the program, including its own line of custom tennis equipment to provide all players an affordable option to get into the sport. The program can also be utilized anywhere on school campuses regardless of weather, including gymnasiums, hallways, cafeterias, fields and blacktops.

Families and schools nationwide have embraced the TGA model and its programs because it creates a healthier and safer environment for students at schools and community centers. The school-based curriculum includes tennis skill progression, education subjects and STEM/STEAM Labs, in addition to physical fitness and health components.

“Tennis is more than a sport. It is a community of people who are passionate, driven, and considerate,” Pantusart said. “With TGA I am very fortunate and excited to introduce children in Washington, D.C. to such a rewarding lifetime opportunity”
