TGA Franchises from California, New Jersey, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, Washington DC, and West Virginia win awards
Los Angeles, CA – TGA Premier Sports (TGA), a leading franchise company specializing in introductory sports programs while merging academics with athletics, honored twelve of its franchises recently at the annual TGA Premier Sports Summit.
The Summit was an opportunity for TGA (Teach Grow Achieve) franchise owners from across the country to come together and collaborate on community efforts, franchise development and learn from each other’s successes over the past year to continue Changing Lives through Sports. Held at the Westin Savannah Golf Resort & Spa in Savannah, GA, it culminated with the company’s 15th Anniversary and recognition of high-achieving franchises/chapters, area directors and coaches in a ceremony lead by TGA CEO Joshua Jacobs.
The franchise winners were honored for their dedication to growing youth sports in their community, for building coaching teams that provide high quality introductory sports programs in a fun and engaging environment, and for going beyond their duty by impacting their local communities above and beyond making youth sports available to all kids.
The husband and wife team of Stuart and Winnie Woody acquired their TGA franchise in Mercer County, NJ in 2013. The Woody’s took home the Lee Warner Award for embracing the TGA brand, collaborating with and supporting peers, delivering exceptional standards in the work they deliver and providing innovations to improve TGA programs and the brand. The unique entrepreneurial team brings a wonderful combination of business background and youth sports experience to TGA’s grassroots movement.
Ross Kvinge, the CEO of Air Force One Golf, acquired a TGA franchise in 2014, and has been supporting TGA Premier Sports through the HB Foundation since then. Their gift this year of $150,000 earned them the Michael Jacobs Award, which is given to the franchise owner for work supporting the TGA Sports Foundation and its benefactors. The HB Foundation has donated over $500,000 to the TGA Sports Foundation since 2014.
Recognition was also given to two TGA franchise owners for revenue growth in 2018. Mike Owens, who acquired his TGA franchise in Tucson in 2017, earned the Steve Tanner Award for the franchise territory with the highest percentage revenue and youth participation increase from the previous year to the current year. Kevin Rooney, who is the longest tenured franchise owner in Bergen County, NJ, received the Joe Hollday Award for the franchise with the most revenue being generated during a 12-month period.
Other franchise owners recognized included Kiara Williams from Beach Cities, CA, who earned the Nate Wright Award that goes to the franchise owner who had the biggest impact on their business through engagement with the network. Kendall Moore from Portland, OR, earned the Hope Warner Award, which goes to the owner who had the most impact on his local community through programs and participation.
In addition, Prang Pantusart, with her new franchise in NW Washington DC, earned the Rookie of the Year Award for embracing the TGA system culture, and Kat and Brandon Schwendeman in San Diego, CA earned the Story of the Year Award for their morning show appearance on a local television station.
A major reason for TGA’s success is the tireless work of TGA’s 2,200 youth sports coaches across the country. Coach of the Year Awards were presented to Cheyenne Cromer from TGA’s Greater Seattle Chapter, Nick Bruce from TGA’s Chapters in SE Michigan, and Tracy Housden from TGA’s Chapters run by the USTA-Mid Atlantic.
