Meet the Team

Tenesha Davis
Territory Director

Tenesha Davis began playing competitive sports at the age of 8 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from Norfolk State University and earned her Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Those valuable lessons learned thru sport and education carried over into her life where she worked in Engineering and the Finance industry for 12 years.

Tenesha began mentoring and coaching children in the late 90’s and as a result of her passion for both playing and coaching, it was a natural fit to begin a new adventure with TGA Premier Sports.

She welcomes the opportunity to use sports as a vehicle to teach kids important character building skills, while also providing a positive, fun environment to learn the basic fundamentals of the game.

John Taylor
Golf Coach

John Taylor was introduced to the game of golf at age 9 by his father. He liked it so much that he started competing in junior tournaments by age 11. He started teaching golf to children at age 21 with the Elijah Walker Golf Program.  Between the ages of 26 and 40, he competed in many amateur and professional events in GA.  For the last 4 years, John has come full circle and is teaching golf to kids and adults again. He really enjoys the sport and is very knowledgeable about the rules, competing, golf etiquette and different techniques on the course.

John’s philosophy is to keep it fun at all times.  He brings this attitude to his teaching style at TGA.  He understands that no two children are alike and he tailors his class so that each child has a unique experience that they will long remember in the years to come.

Jared Ross
Golf Coach

Jared Ross is from West Orange, New Jersey and has been a golf coach since he was 16. He started by volunteering at the First of Tee of Metropolitan New York at Weequahic Park in Newark, NJ as a Junior Coach. After 2 years, he had to find an alternative opportunity due to lack of funding and discovered TGA of Essex County in New Jersey. There he began teaching every summer when he came home from college. After he graduated from Morehouse College, he found out there was a TGA nearby in Gwinnett County, Georgia and the rest is history.

Coach Ross has also been selected as Coach of Fall 2018 by his peers and staff. Congratulations!

Tyler Renn
Golf Coach

Tyler Renn is born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Tyler is a scratch golfer, who has been playing golf for 30+ years. Tyler has qualified for both the Georgia State Am and the Mid-Am championship golf tournaments.

Tyler loves coaching because he loves sharing his depth of knowledge and expertise of various sports with others. Not only is Tyler a golf coach, he is also a volunteer football coach at NYO in Buckhead.

When he’s not on the golf course or coaching, Tyler is in Insurance Sales at Renn Wealth Management.

Alexis Brooks
Cheerleading Coach and Admin

Alexis Brooks is born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Shorter University with a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration in Sport Management, Cum Laude. Originally as a child she wanted to dance, but when she reached middle school her best friend convinced her to try out for cheer and that’s when she fell in love. She’s been cheering since 2006. She has ran cheer camps during the summer to help those cheerleaders who wanted to perfect their craft.

Alexis has been working for TGA since 2016 and the parents can tell she loves every moment. She believes the best part about being a cheerleading coach is seeing the students progress. She enjoys that feeling of watching them learn and master a technique. Her ultimate goal is to instill the joy of cheerleading so that children continue to stay active throughout their lives.

Madison Flynt
Cheerleading Coach

Madison Flynt has been coaching with TGA since 2018. She is currently finishing up a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Sports Management at Shorter University. Madison has a true passion for sports. She grew up doing gymnastics, competition and sideline cheerleading, and played basketball. She has also coached all these sports for several years. She is a 2-time national champion as a competition cheerleader, and a 2-time national champion as a coach.

Madison has had the opportunity to coach sports in 19 different states and 4 different countries.  A fun fact about her is that she served on an international mission team to Zambia, Africa to train 17 cheer coaches and administer a sports camp for kids to start cheer programs in that part of the world!

Madison credits having excellent coaches growing up that made sports fun, but also encouraged her and helped her grow as a person. She wants to be that same type of coach for children. While having athletes excel in their athletic skills is a goal of her, she also wants them to have fun, be confident, and grow while playing sports!

Teandra Love
Tennis Coach

Teandra Love began playing tennis at 5 years old and played through college. She is from California and moved to Georgia 8 years ago. Tennis has always been her passion and teaching children the game is so much fun. One of her greatest joys is getting to know the kids and working with them on their skills.

Company History

2003

TGA launched its first Golf Enrichment Programs at six Los Angeles schools. TGA’s focus was to provide PK – 8th grade students with an opportunity to learn golf through an innovate 5 level after-school program. This program made golf affordable and accessible for children, and received an overwhelmingly positive response from schools, parents and students. TGA expanded its programs within Los Angeles area schools to accommodate the demands from students and parents who wanted a golf program within the safe, convenient environment of their schools. The curriculum also provided transition for students to go from their schools to programs at the golf course.

2004

TGA’s first camps and clinics were offered at golf courses. TGA also incorporated the expansion of physical fitness and education components as well as adding a character development initiative within its school programs.

2006

Golf professionals along with entrepreneurs began expressing their interest in the unique sustainable and scalable model of TGA. By the end of 2006, after three years of honing and improving the TGA business model and curriculums, TGA began offering geographically exclusive franchisees which became the TGA Premier Junior Golf Program now running throughout the United States.

2008

The USGA approved TGA’s curriculum under the rules of amateur status and TGA became National Partners with the After School Alliance and the President’s Council on Physical Fitness.

2009

TGA achieved its first ranking in Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500, and won two industry awards for Business Achievement and Player Development.

2010

Golf Magazine named TGA’s CEO, Joshua Jacobs to Golf’s 40 Under 40 list. TGA was named as one of 10 Best Franchise Deals around the world by Entrepreneur, along with jumping 131 spots in Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 ranking from #450 to #319. TGA was also termed the 4th best youth fitness franchise. TGA also formed the 501c3 TGA Sports Foundation, to be able to apply for grants and funding to serve under-resourced areas as well as mentally and physically disabled youth.

2011

TGA gained its 50th franchise along with having seven multiple franchise owners across the country. TGA also branched out into the sport of tennis, signing a National Partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA). TGA’s model is now being offered in both the golf and tennis industries and is known as a leading initiative to grow both sports while providing small business ownership and job opportunities. The TGA / USTA proprietary Enrichment Curriculum is solely used by TGA Franchises within schools. TGA works with USTA National along with USTA Sections, Districts and CTA’s to complete the Player Pathway and help feed the USTA’s adult and junior initiatives to grow the sport.

2012

TGA signs its first tennis franchise. TGA’s Youth Sports Franchise model is now one of the fastest at growing junior golf and youth tennis participation amongst 3-13 year olds. TGA’s motto is to Keep Swinging!® and we strive to provide all American youth with the opportunity to learn golf and tennis in a fun and educational environment.

2017
