The smell of barbecues, along with the signs and sounds of parades often fill our Labor Day holiday with plenty of joy and happiness. Although it’s the unofficial end of summer, there’s no reason for sadness.
Labor Day weekend is a time to honor all the hard work we put in each and every day. It’s a chance to get outside with your friends and family and celebrate each other as a team. Book that tee time with kids you’ve been putting off. Go to that tennis court down the street you always drive by on your way to and from work. Invite those old friends over you never get to see, because life can be so busy.
Whatever you do this Labor Day, remember why we have this holiday. So much of our time is spent on the phone, at work, shuttling kids to and from practices. We all deserve a break to celebrate our hard work.
At TGA, we teach our students about the importance of hard work and teamwork all the time. Team contests in our classes require contributions from everyone, just like everyone in a family or business needs to contribute to achieve success. This is why our country’s labor unions in the late 19th century felt it so important to celebrate teamwork and everyone’s contributions with a national holiday.
So however you chose to celebrate, we hope you do so safely. From all of us at TGA of Los Angeles, we wish you a happy Labor Day.
