Drive, Chip and Putt: Enter now for a chance to play at Augusta!

There are four qualifying sites in the metro area.

TGA encourages students at all levels to sign up for free qualifying for the national Drive, Chip and Putt competition, which culminates each April with the national finals just before The Masters in Augusta, Ga.

Last year more than 70 TGA golfers participated in local qualifying, with 16 advancing to subregionals and three advancing to regionals, just a step short of Augusta. There are four qualifying sites in the metro area — June 26 at Whispering Willows in Livonia, June 30 at Pheasant Run in Canton, July 18 at Lyon Oaks in Wixom and July 21 at Oak Pointe in Brighton. There also are qualifying sites in northern and western Michigan if you’d like to combine this event with a family trip.

Qualifying is free at drivechipandputt.com

There are many other opportunities to compete this summer. TGA has a series of four nine-hole tournaments designed to introduce children to competitive golf in a low-key setting. All are on weekends and parents are encouraged to caddy for their children. You can sign up here for the summer tournaments, and also for our spring leagues.

There are many events sponsored by U.S. Kids Golf, the Meijer Tour, Golf Association of Michigan, Top Fifty Junior tour and more. As announced last month, TGA also is partnering with the Pepsi Little People’s Golf Championship in Quincy, IL. All TGA students get a 15 percent registration discount.
