Pat Welsh is a TGA original. One of the first hires for the Los Angeles franchise was also one of the first hires for TGA as a company!
Pat is from New Jersey but calls California his home. He was a founding member of KROQ radio in LA and has toured with bands the likes of Frankie Vallie & the 4 Seasons and Sly and the Family Stone.
Pat played competitively on the Golden State Tour and is the only person to have a hole in 1 at all 4 par 3’s at Riviera CC! Listen to this man…he knows what he’s talking about!
Matthew Nicklaw has been playing golf and tennis his whole life. He was born in Syracuse, New York and has lived in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Texas and Arizona before moving to California.
In high school, Matthew came in 3rd place in the 5A state tennis tournament in doubles. He then went on to get a bachelors degree (BFA) at the University of California, Santa Barbara and then his masters degree (MFA) from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
Golf highlights include a hole in one at age 13 🙂 and he still maintains a 3.8 handicap playing tourneys in the Griffith Park Men’s Club. He loves coaching and the joy a student gets when they hit a crisp forehand or drain a long putt!

Lisa hopes to help as many kiddos build their confidence and character while having fun! She is currently majoring in sociology at UCLA.
An avid sportsman and former teacher, Bill joined TGA to share his love of sports with the next generation of players. He’s very adamant that his students learn the rules of the game while taking a slow approach to learning the fundamentals. The more time spent on each individual skill, the better off the player will be when it’s time to execute in the field of play! Bill instructs golf and tennis and is branching into team sports this year.
Frederick is a golf enthusiast through and through! Having been an instructor for the 10+ years, Coach Frederick has seen it all.
He treats every student with the utmost respect and has a calming tone and demeanor that creates a natural bond with his students.
We’re thrilled to have him join our team to foster in the next generation of players through enrichment, camps, and clinics.
TGA launched its first Golf Enrichment Programs at six Los Angeles schools. TGA’s focus was to provide PK – 8th grade students with an opportunity to learn golf through an innovate 5 level after-school program. This program made golf affordable and accessible for children, and received an overwhelmingly positive response from schools, parents and students. TGA expanded its programs within Los Angeles area schools to accommodate the demands from students and parents who wanted a golf program within the safe, convenient environment of their schools. The curriculum also provided transition for students to go from their schools to programs at the golf course.
TGA’s first camps and clinics were offered at golf courses. TGA also incorporated the expansion of physical fitness and education components as well as adding a character development initiative within its school programs.
Golf professionals along with entrepreneurs began expressing their interest in the unique sustainable and scalable model of TGA.
