TGA of Southeast Michigan

Golf

Introducing the life-long sport of golf at a young age through programs that provide a fun and enriching experience for kids while offering a convenient and affordable option for parents.

We teach & develop the fundamentals: Grip, putting, chipping & full-swing

Ways to Play Golf

TGA offers ways to play year round. No matter when or how you choose to play with TGA, equipment is provided and all skill levels are welcomed.

Enrichment Classes

We teach kids the game of golf through easy-to-understand concepts & interactive games that are fun and engaging. Using skill-based drills that can be done anywhere (indoors or outdoors, at school, or on the golf course), students develop the fundamentals, explore academic concepts through game play, and practice life skills — such as sportsmanship and respect.

5-Level Progression

Each player progresses through our 5-level program at their own pace. Our low student-to-coach ratio allows for individualized attention, meeting each student where they are in their journey and progression.

Camps

TGA golf camps combine expert instruction and course play, providing kids of all ages and abilities an unforgettable experience and the opportunity to develop their love of the game. Our dedicated coaching staff and low camper-to-coach ratio allow for individual attention and instruction tailored to each participant’s skill level. In addition to honing their skills and improving their game, campers build friendships and life-long memories.

Parent-Child Events

TGA of Southeast Michigan holds parent-child events every May and September. We hold Saturday events in Macomb County and Sunday events in Oakland County. These are great opportunities to spend an afternoon and evening with your child. Price is just $89 and includes warmup on driving range and putting green, clinic, 9 holes for both players with cart, plus dinner afterwards.

Leagues

Our co-ed golf leagues offer a first taste of competition for junior golfers. The 8-10 division plays a scramble format, while golfers in the 11-15 division play their own ball and the top three scores count toward the team total. Leagues are competitive, not instructional. A TGA commissioner is on site to get groups started, post scores, handle any rules issues and monitor pace of play. There is a parent volunteer coach for each four-person team. Parents are encouraged to caddy for their children, though it’s also fine to drop kids off and pick up after the round.

Tournaments

We hold a series of four individual nine-hole tournaments every summer for three co-ed age divisions (8-under, 9-11 and 12-15). The goal of our tournament series is to introduce kids to competition in a low-key setting. All of our events are on weekends, and we encourage parents to caddy for their children. We also provide a scorer/rules official to accompany each foursome. These events are not for beginners. Golfers should have significant on-course experience and a desire to compete.
