If your child has played tournament golf, the Little People’s event would be perfect. If not, start out with a TGA nine-hole event.

TGA is thrilled to partner with the Pepsi Little People’s Golf Championships in Quincy, IL.  The 47th annual international tournament will be held June 22-24, with seven age divisions for boys and seven for girls, ranging from ages 3-18. There will be participants from every state and several foreign countries. Past participants include four major champions — Rory McIlroy, Zach Johnson, Ben Curtis and Todd Hamilton

This event is a perfect opportunity to combine a competitive opportunity for your child with a fun family road trip that might include stops along the way in Chicago and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, IL.

Little People’s is offering a 15 percent registration discount to all TGA golfers, plus one free entry fee for a TGA player for the regular tournament and the parent-child event the day before the tournament. To compete for the scholarship, your child must send an essay to drobinson@golftga.com no later than April 1. The essay should include details on the child’s golf background, academic performance and extra-curricular and volunteer experiences.

Of course anyone can go to the Little People’s website and download an entry form, which you can submit by email, regular mail or fax. Just write TGA on the top of the form to get your discount. Regular cost is $100 for ages 3-7, $160 for ages 8-9, $175 for ages 10-11 and $195 for ages 12-18. After the discount, the price range is from $85 to $166.  Optional parent-child event is $45 per team and includes golf cart for 9 holes.
