We are incredibly proud of 36 girls with TGA connections (some are former students, some are current coaches, many are both) who competed in the girls state high school championships Oct. 14-15.
It is quite an achievement to even qualify for states, and many of these exceptional players did a whole lot more. Congratulations to the following state champions:
Lauren Timpf won the Division 3 individual title with rounds of 70-72. Her Lutheran North team, which included Saige Rothey and Gabby Cardenas — won the Division 3 team title.
Sisters Grace and Hannah Wang led Rochester Adams to the Division 1 team title.
Maeve Casey, Chloe Vig, Lila Polakowski and Abby Slankster led Mercy to the Division 2 team title.
The following players finished in the top 10 individually:
Division 1 — Grace Wang tied for third (72-77), Olivia Hemmila was eighth (77-77), Samantha Coleman ninth (78-81), Venetia Chap tied for 10th (84-76) and Brooke Morris tied for 10th (80-80).
